Vision-“Changing minds for Transforming lives”
The term “MANAGEMENT” is different to different people according to one’s learning, context,
organization, nature of work etc. The father of the modern management theory is the French
industrialist Henry Fayol. The concept of management also changed with the passage of time. A
few of the definitions are given below to have a look in to the variety and vastness of the topic.
“Management may be defined as the art of securing maximum results with a minimum of efforts as
to secure maximum prosperity and happiness for both employer and employee and give the public
the best possible service.” [John F. Mee]
Management can be viewed up on as a process by which managers formulate , direct, and
operate organizations with coordinated human effort to attain predetermined objectives. George
Terry describes it as a process consisting of planning, organizing, actuating and controlling aimed
at using the people and resources of the organization to accomplish determined objectives.
Koontz and O'Donnell describes that the effective management is always contingency or
situational management.
In a world of competition and globalization, an organization cannot exist unless it is managed
properly. Hence sustainability is more important for survival than many other things. How the
employees cooperate for the survival , how they understand the philosophy of existence all that
matters in management. Specialization is required for  Human Resource Management, Finance
Management, Operations Management , Marketing Management, Sales management, Advertising
management, Entrepreneur management  etc
It is often seen that the managers who succeed in the organization has a certain mix of leadership
quality also. Leadership consists of various and several complex factors the most important of that
are the leader himself, the followers and the situation or the environment where the leadership is
to be exercised.
In a Hi-Tech world, the technology management and information management are also taking
important roles with out which organizations cannot exist  or organizations cannot get the lead role
in the domain area in which the organization is functioning Hence change management is also to
be practiced for survival..
In this competitive world, it is not possible for every one to attend the B Schools and get a
Management Degree. Due to large number of specialization the old way of one man leadership is
also not possible, hence we have to go for the Team Leadership and to be practiced it. The young
Engineers come out of the college lacks managerial concepts and social skills. IILM provides a
solution for this problems by the 3 L way  of flexible learning; Life Long Learning and the 3C way
of Competence-.Capacity Enhancing, Confidence Building and Career Developing.
"Management is an organ of an organization and the organization whether a business or
government or department is in turn an organ of the society, existing to make specific contribution
and to discharge specific functions. this contribution to management is the reason for its
existence., the determinant of tits work and the basis of its authority and legitimacy. Managers are
professionals who practice discipline, carry out functions and discharge management tasks."

If you are the CEO of a Multinational Organization, the Religious Head or the Head  of a
University,  Administrator of a Hospital or  Business Executive, it will be a better investment to
undergo certain programs in management , interact with the similar in other organizations and
come to consensus or new revelations. This will  be, of course, an eye-opener to those who
seriously need to make changes in the environment, transform those working with them or  to
change themselves,  IILM provides the best solution for them.
